Stud link chain markers
Bright, durable and made to the dimensions of your chain. Available in eight colours, with SOLAS reflective tape so the marker position is picked out at night with a head torch.
Superyacht & commercial · 13mm–70mm stud link
Anchoright stud link markers are fitted on deck, in the marina, without hauling out the chain. They don't flake into the anchorage, they carry SOLAS reflective tape for night use, and they cut the job by up to 90%.
The job nobody wants
Crew are asked to paint the chain two or three times a season. It's a thankless task — and the paint comes off anyway, straight into the anchorage.
Our estimate of the chain paint used on superyacht chain every year. Almost all of it ends up in the sea.
How often the average yacht re-marks its chain, because paint simply doesn't stay on galvanised steel.
Haul the chain out, degrease it, mask it, paint it, wait for it to dry, flake it back in. Every time.
It can't be done discreetly alongside with owners or charter guests on board. It has to be scheduled around them.
The alternative
Each marker closes around the stud link and is secured with a marine-grade stainless screw. No preparation, no solvents, no drying time, and no mess on deck — so it can be done in the marina between trips rather than blocked out as a yard job.
From the crew who fitted them
The first prototypes went out for testing in April 2025. These are the crews who put them through a season.
We have been extremely impressed with the markings we tested over the summer. They saved us a huge amount of time, as there was no need to prep and paint the chain. Installation was quick, simple and far more efficient than our usual process. So far the markers have held up really well and remain easily visible in day to day use.
The chain markers are definitely an improvement in the anchoring system. If it doesn't break, it is not bad for the environment, saves deck crew time of maintenance and saves money to the ownership. After 2 months of heavy usage we are happy with the markers — just wishing we had installed them in more links.
Crew feedback on reflective tape has since been designed in as standard.
The custom set
Every set above 13mm is manufactured to your chain and your sequence — because stud link dimensions vary by manufacturer, and every bridge already has a system it likes.

Bright, durable and made to the dimensions of your chain. Available in eight colours, with SOLAS reflective tape so the marker position is picked out at night with a head torch.

A5 or A6, backed in black, white or silver, built to your colour scheme. Supply the artwork or font file and the yacht's name goes on it. Colours and numbers are moulded into the face, so nothing wears off.

You deal with Quinton, the founder, from the first call through to delivery — specification, colour sequence, sizing and any feedback. No account manager, no ticket queue.
How a custom order runs
Size, total length, the sequence you use now, and whether you want us to recommend one. A photo of the existing guide is usually enough.
We confirm the link dimensions we need, agree the colour sequence and the guide plate design, and quote. Warning markers — alternating orange and black — go just above the anchor.
Markers for each position are bagged separately and labelled clearly, so the crew fitting them know exactly which set goes where along the chain.
Two halves around the link, press, one screw. No prep, no mess, no haul-out. Fit them as the chain comes up if you can't run it all out.
We'll build whatever sequence your bridge already uses. If you'd rather we recommended one, tell us the chain length and we'll propose it. Whatever you choose, we suggest a set of warning markers — alternating orange and black — a short distance up from the anchor as your starting reference. Crew who've fitted them advise placing five or more markers at each section to make identification clearer at a distance.
